Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. Emma chose to be an actor when she was six. For several years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing as well as dancing, and also acting. From the age of 10, she took part and played the leading role in a number of Stagecoach School plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight straight auditions. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. It was also the most successful film in 2001. The opening days and weekends of the sales were record breaking. The film received praise from experts, and also by the performances of its three young stars. The well-known British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for a Feature Film. Emma was awarded five times for her performance in the movie.
